I've officially been living in Portland for three months now! Part of me feels like I've been here for a lot longer, and the other part of me feels like it's only been a couple weeks. Regardless, my life back in Massachusetts seems so far away. I'm so happy to be here, and I'm excited to see how life continues to unfold.
Yesterday was the first sunny day Portland has seen for a week or so. My friend Sierra and I made a trip downtown to wander amongst the buildings and shops. We got lunch at the food trucks on Alder, meandered through Powell's for a bit, and made it to the waterfront for sunset. It was so nice to be downtown and to feel like I was an active part of the city. I love cities. I spend so much time daydreaming about my year in Boston, when I would take the subway to downtown every week and spend countless hours wandering around and learning the city. I felt a bit closer to those days yesterday, as we explored Portland's small but colorful downtown area.
This is why I moved here. I moved here to live in a creative, vibrant, passionate, laid back city and still be close to the landscapes and vistas that take my breath away. It's all right here. I'm so grateful to be a part of it.
